Tried the top 4 Lockhart BBQ spots today: Chisholm Trail BBQ, Black's BBQ Lockhart, Smitty's Market, and Kreuz Market, in that order. Smitty's unfortunately ranked as the worst of the 4. I wouldn't even put it on the list of ones to try in Lockhart. The hard thing is that atmosphere was great with the open fire and side rooms for seating. Tried the top 4 Lockhart BBQ spots today: Chisholm Trail BBQ, Black's Smitty's, and Kreuz Market. Chisholm Trail ranked 3rd for me. I got ribs (pretty good, but kind of tasted like turkey leg), brisket (bark was good, rest was a little tough and different consistency throughout), dark chicken (dry not much flavor).
